5 Stars One Of The Best
Bought this for my energy machine beagle “Biscuit”. What a wonderful toy. Kept him busy for at least 10-15 mins. Thanks KONG!

1 Star lasted less than a day
i gave my 8 month old poodle/bichon PUPPY a classic kong in the afternoon and by night noticed he was chewing something inside his mouth, which turned out to be half of the kong he’d chewed through ripped in half. seriously? he weighs 13 pounds! the search for a genuinely durable toy continues…

5 Stars My dog is happy. So I’m happy.
I was a little surprised when I got the toy because there were all these white streaks on it. I thought the color had faded but once I put it under warm water and gave it a little scrub, it went away. That was a moot point. My dog carries this around the apartment and there’s a certain bounce in his step every time he carries it. Very happy.

5 Stars Excellent Chew Toy for even the toughest chewer!
As a dog trainer, I highly recommend the Kong to my clients for even the toughest chewers. I even recommend it in my book. It is a lot of fun too because it bounces around all over the place when thrown and your dog can really enjoy the unexpected landings!

2 Stars is it the design or my dogs?
I know people LOVE these and swear by them. I don’t doubt it. But I thought I’d just write about my non-5 star experience so buyers know that they’re not alone if their dogs don’t take to it.

I’ve tried filling it with food (kibbles just basically fall out, hence, not really a challenge). I’ve filled it with peanut butter but because peanut butter is so calorie dense, I try not to give my little Maltese or Papillon mix too much of it. My 2 aren’t really chewers, fyi.

For them, this is just an ok toy. They never play with it if there’s no food in it. If there is, it doesn’t occupy them for a long time, just a couple of minutes. I’m sure all dogs are different so I’m writing this to say, what floats one dog’s boat, doesn’t float another (or two in my case).

After trying many different toy items, my two seem to love the KONG Goodie Bone, Small and Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball, Small best. Or rather, I like them because both toys occupy the dogs longer.

Overall, if you don’t have a heavy chewer, or have a small toy breed and don’t want to give them lots of peanut butter, there are other toy alternatives that will keep them busy.

5 Stars great toy!
i have a beagle and a dachshund and they love kongs! i will put a little peanut butter inside it and they will spend a good half an hour chewing on the toy trying to get it out. keeps them entertained and keeps me a happy mom!

5 Stars Indestructible!
These are the only toys my dogs do not destoy. These things have even survived me running them over with the lawnmower. These are a must have for anyone with a dog!

4 Stars kong chew toy
dog gets a few weeks out of this at least before bits of it show up in his pooh….still sturdier than other toys

5 Stars No more separation anxiety or chewing!
Our recently adopted Great Dane loves his XL Kong. He had started suffering from some separation anxiety (crying and howling plus digging and chewing when left alone). Several people recommended I try a Kong and I thought it sounded like a great idea for my very food oriented dog. When I first got it, I made the mistake of stuffing it too tightly and he would just eat what was sticking out the end and then give up. After some research I started over with a “beginner” mode where I just put some loose dog kibble inside and very lightly stopped up the big end with a biscuit. It was easy for him to pop the biscuit loose and figure out how to get the kibble to come out by rolling it around. We then progressed to more tightly stuffed treats and harder to remove blockages. I have no idea how he was even getting those out but within 1 week he is now working on “advanced” frozen kongs with so much concentration he doesnt even notice that we are leaving him alone! The Kong is given ONLY when we leave and put away when we are home so he associates his favorite treat with us leaving and doesnt get anxious about being alone. It is healthier than rawhide and can be reused over and over. He has not damaged it at all except maybe a tooth mark here and there. If you google Kong recipes you’ll find a variety of easy stuffing ideas - we are currently mixing instant potatoes (minus the salt) with dry kibble and bits of hot dog and freezing overnight. We just bought another Kong since we are now freezing them with various liquid mixed treats inside and need to be able to rotate them out. It’s helpful to always have one prepped if we need to leave the house unexpectedly. The Kong has been a lifesaver for us and our dog!
